About HBIMS-NAF&SA

Shaping India’s Future Seafarers Through a Documented Maritime Admission Framework

HBIMS-NAF&SA — National Admission Framework & Seat Assurance was created to bring structure, transparency and accountability into the Merchant Navy admission journey. Founded in 2018 under the vision of Humble Bee Education Foundation, HBIMS-NAF&SA helps aspirants and parents understand the correct route into DGMA / DG Shipping-approved Maritime Training Institutes through eligibility screening, counselling, medical-readiness awareness, documentation and seat-mapping support.

The Merchant Navy is a regulated career. A candidate cannot enter it safely through verbal promises, cash-based claims, fake agents, unverified admissions or unclear medical promises. That is why HBIMS-NAF, HBIMS, NAF, NAF&SA, National Admission Framework, National Admission Framework & Seat Assurance, Humble Bee Institute of Marine Studies and Humble Bee Education Foundation work together as a documented admission-support ecosystem for serious maritime aspirants.

Our purpose is simpletalent, discipline, eligibility, medical readiness and documentation should decide the candidate’s pathway — not confusion, middlemen or false promises.

Our Story

Our Story: From Section 8 Registration to a National Admission Framework

HBIMS began with a clear understanding: India has thousands of young aspirants who dream of joining the Merchant Navy, but many of them do not understand the difference between a genuine DGMA-approved pathway and an agent-driven promise.

Many students and parents face the same doubts:

  • Which Merchant Navy course is suitable after 10th, 12th, ITI, diploma or engineering?
  • Is IMU-CET required?
  • Which courses need strict eyesight and colour vision standards?
  • What is the difference between GP Rating, CCMC, DNS, B.Sc. Nautical Science, ETO, GME and B.Tech Marine Engineering?
  • Which MTIs are DGMA / DG Shipping-approved?
  • What is the correct fee structure?
  • What is medical fitness?
  • What documents are required?
  • What is admission, what is sponsorship and what is employment?

HBIMS-NAF&SA was built to answer these questions through a written, receipted and stage-wise process.

Since inception, HBIMS-NAF&SA has guided 5,000+ aspirants from 22+ states, with a focus on transparent, documented admission support into DGMA-approved MTI pathways. The framework is built under a Section 8-oriented public-good approach, where structured guidance, student protection and ethical admission support remain central to the mission.
