Colour Vision Screening
- You get 15 seconds for each plate — 25 plates in all.
- Tap the number you see. Once chosen, an answer can't be changed.
- If the timer runs out, that plate is counted as missed.
- View on a bright screen with night-mode off for a fair result.
- This is a screening indicator, not a medical test.
About this screening: It uses original, computer-generated Ishihara-style plates as a convenience indicator only. It is not a medical examination and its result — pass or otherwise — has no official standing. Colour-vision standards for Merchant Navy are set by DGMA and assessed only by an approved doctor on calibrated plates. Don't self-diagnose from this screen either way; if in doubt, get a professional eye test. HBIMS-NAF&SA is an admissions facilitation framework, not an MTI, and offers no fitness or admission assurance.
Other Medical Readiness Tools
Use these as screening indicators only. Final medical fitness is decided by a DGMA / DG Shipping-approved Medical Examiner.
